Founder & Financial Planner

Mark R. Ziemba II, an Accredited Investment Fiduciary™, founded Thoughtful Plan with the belief that financial planning should be inclusive, flexible, and accessible to all. Over the course of his career, he has helped hundreds of individuals and businesses build successful financial strategies using a progressive and thoughtful approach.

Whether it's digital or in-person advisory services, Mark always adds a personal touch to all of his client interactions. He believes that effective relationships between investors and advisors are built on trust and in acting in the client’s best interests. As such, he helps his clients seek the best returns on their investments by focusing on investment fees and full disclosure.

His areas of practice include: investment management, trust management, estate planning, retirement savings and income strategies, along with budgeting and debt reduction strategies. He is also a 3(38) – Full Discretion, 401 (K) advisor through Private Advisor Group and is experienced in plan design, administration, participant education, and due diligence.

Coming from modest means and time spent with his great-grandparents helped develop who Mark is today. His success, personally and professionally, has come from hard work, dedication, and a simple moral code.

As a gay man, building an inclusive practice was Mark’s top priority. Mark founded Thoughtful Plan as a safe space for individuals of all backgrounds to openly discuss their financial goals with an advisor that truly has their best interests in mind. He is also a proud veteran of the US Army, and served as a Sergeant and Unit Leader in Iraq. While there, he developed key skills such as leadership, staying calm under pressure, prioritizing goals and an appreciation for cherishing what is truly important in life.

A native of Western New York, Mark is a proud supporter of his hometown. He frequently hosts financial literacy forums, is an active speaker and writer on financial topics, and has dedicated a portion of profits from Thoughtful Plan for investment in local community organizations that serve WNY.

Mark earned his Bachelors of Science in Management from SUNY Buffalo and is an Accredited Investment Fiduciary.
